GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

Dani Doane, Director, House Relations

The Government Relations department is Congress’s link to the policy recommendations, in-depth analyses, and conservative ideas expressed in Heritage’s articles, publications, lectures, and other products.

Our staff are available to help members of Congress and their staff prepare for congressional hearings by identifying a Heritage expert who will provide valuable insight on foreign or domestic policy issues. Heritage analysts are also available by request to brief members, committee and congressional staffs on a wide range of issues. Congressional staffers come to Heritage regularly to receive custom-tailored briefings on the latest Heritage research related to their committee assignment or legislative priority.

In addition, we coordinate monthly briefings with prominent journalists. These forums offer communications directors and press secretaries an opportunity to meet with members of the media to better understand how and why they cover certain stories. Similarly, legislative directors, chiefs of staff, and other select staffers are typically invited to monthly seminars, where Heritage experts and others give their perspective on issues of current interest.

We also offer a New Members Orientation seminar following the election of a new Congress to introduce newly elected members to the key issues and the conservative solutions to our nation’s urgent foreign and domestic problems.
