COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING

Rebecca Hagelin, Vice President

Heritage public relations and communications professionals, who have won several Silver Anvil awards—the Public Relations Society of America’s highest honor—are available to provide counsel and advice on running an effective, idea-driven communications program. Need to elevate a public policy idea to national prominence? The Heritage communications "juggernaut" (as a liberal media watchdog group recently described it) can explain how it can be done.

A long-time favorite of talk radio, Heritage opened new broadcast facilities in 1994 to help meet the growing demand for radio studios by radio talk show personalities visiting Washington from around the country. With state-of-the-art equipment, Heritage’s two studios enable talk show hosts to broadcast live from Heritage’s headquarters just two blocks from the Capitol. In 1998 alone, more than 100 radio shows were broadcast live from Heritage’s studios and Heritage analysts appeared on hundreds more. Members of the House and Senate were frequent guests on these shows. Heritage’s studios are open to any member of Congress who wants to stay in touch with the home district, and members are encouraged to invite their local hosts to Washington to broadcast from Heritage.

Heritage’s work with talk radio is part of a larger media program. Not only do Heritage experts appear regularly on major news and public affairs shows on the ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC, C–SPAN, and Fox networks, but Heritage lectures, conferences, and seminars are broadcast regularly by C–SPAN. Heritage is an ideal forum for members of Congress who want their message to have an impact.
