Intern Housing at the Johnson Building

Heritage and Johnson 2

The Johnson Building (left) is located adjacent to The Heritage Foundation

The Heritage Foundation Johnson Building Intern Housing Program is open to Heritage interns, individuals interning for organizations aligned to the mission of Heritage, and other conservatives interning in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Heritage's Young Leaders Program offers work experience, educational programs, and training experience to Heritage interns and those living in the Johnson Building through various programs and seminars.

The Johnson Building is located adjacent to Heritage's Capitol Hill headquarters on Massachusetts Avenue, NE, two blocks east of Union Station. The building contains 27 studio and one-bedroom units; each unit provides housing for two or three interns based on its size. A resident advisor lives on each floor of the building and 24-hour on-site security personnel staff the building. The building is access controlled, and includes a coin-operated laundry facility, fitness center, library, and floor lounges. Each room is fully furnished and the amenities listed below are included in the monthly amenities fee charged to each resident. Click here for additional pictures of the building.

Included Amenities:

  • Furnishings: single beds, nightstand, dresser, desk with bookshelves, kitchen table and chairs, clothes closet, iron/ironing board, and LCD TV
  • Kitchen: refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, cookware, complete dish set, eating and cooking utensils

  • Cable TV (200+ non-premium channels)
