Intern Housing at the Johnson Building  The Johnson Building (left) is located adjacent to The Heritage Foundation The Heritage Foundation Johnson Building Intern Housing Program is open to Heritage interns, individuals interning for organizations aligned to the mission of Heritage, and other conservatives interning in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Heritage's Young Leaders Program offers work experience, educational programs, and training experience to Heritage interns and those living in the Johnson Building through various programs and seminars. The Johnson Building is located adjacent to Heritage's Capitol Hill headquarters on Massachusetts Avenue, NE, two blocks east of Union Station. The building contains 27 studio and one-bedroom units; each unit provides housing for two or three interns based on its size. A resident advisor lives on each floor of the building and 24-hour on-site security personnel staff the building. The building is access controlled, and includes a coin-operated laundry facility, fitness center, library, and floor lounges. Each room is fully furnished and the amenities listed below are included in the monthly amenities fee charged to each resident. Click here for additional pictures of the building. Included Amenities: - Furnishings: single beds, nightstand, dresser, desk with bookshelves, kitchen table and chairs, clothes closet, iron/ironing board, and LCD TV
- Kitchen: refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, cookware, complete dish set, eating and cooking utensils
- High speed wireless internet
- Cable TV (200+ non-premium channels)
- Air conditioning
- All utilities
- Local phone service
- Building maintenance and cleaning staff (common areas) on-site daily
- Cleaning supplies and vacuum available for use by residents
The Residents of the Johnson Building enjoy the numerous benefits of living with other young conservatives while interning in Washington D.C. Due to it's affiliation with The Heritage Foundation, all intern residents must also adhere to established rules of conduct and building policies.
